LONDON - After kicking off her 2014 Wimbledon schedule with a win, Eugenie Bouchard continued her success, defeating Spain's Silvia Soler-Espinosa in the second round of the All-England Club. The Canadian was in tough in the opening set but cruised in the second clinching the victory.
In the opening set, Bouchard needed 44 minutes to defeat Silor-Espinosa (7-5) but took just 22 minutes to close out her opponent, winning 6-1. The 20-year-old made six breaks of serve and 17 winners en route to her victory.
This, her 32nd victory of the season, leaves Bouchard duplicating her Wimbledon finish last year - in the third round. Bouchard, however, is not content to return to the third round. Instead, she will hope to keep rolling against her next opponent, Germany's Andrea Petkovic.
