Murray, Djokovic, Federer Advance to Semi's

Novak Djokovic defeated Jo Wilfried Tsonga in straight sets while Andy Murray defeated Nicolas Almagro of Spain and the two will meet in the semifinals in the Men's Draw. Murray was at the top of his game on Thursday making some spectacular shots in route to the victory. Djokovic was workmanlike in his match.

Meanwhile Roger Federer eliminated American John Isner 6-4, 7-6 taking an exciting second set tiebreak to advance. Isner was serving at match point as Federer's return hit the net and dribbled over for the winner.

In other Action, Juan Martin Del Potro advanced to the semifinals defeating Kei Nishikori 6-4, 7-6. The Argentine won the second set tiebreaker 7-4.


Williams, Sharapova and Kirilenko on to Semi's

 

Meanwhile, Serena Williams destroyed the former number one seeded Caroline Wozniacki. She advanced with a 6-0, 6-3 victory in what looked to be a complete mismatch. Williams has continued her stellar play that she found at Wimbledon several weeks ago. Her serve is still dominating opponents. Maria Kirilenko upset Petra Kvitova 7-6, 6-3. It was top seeded Victoria Azarenka defeating Angelique Kerber of Germany 6-4, 7-5. She will face Serena Williams in the semifinals.

Venus and Serena Williams have advanced in doubles defeating Errani/Vinci of Italy 6-1, 6-1 and advance to the Semifinals.

It was Maria Sharapova defeating Kim Clijsters of Belgium 6-2, 7-5 to advance to the Semifinals. Clijsters, a fan favorite, is retiring at the end of the season and makes her last appearence in singles action at Wimbledon in this match. Sharapova will face Kirilenko in the Semifinals.
