After a competitive match against Italy’s Sara Errani on Friday afternoon, the Polish sensation Agnieska Radwanska is the first woman in the tournament to qualify for a spot in tomorrow’s semi-final.
While she was able to oust the Italian in straight sets, Radwanska had to earn her victory every step of the way, defeating Errani by scores of 7-6 (1) and 7-5.
Both women played a strong, back-and-forth match but on this day, the No. 3 from Krakow was too much as she is set to battle the winner of Friday evening’s matchup between top-seeded Serena Williams and Slovakian Magdalena Rybarikova.
She’s gone through Yanina Wickmayer, American phenom Sloane Stephens and now Sara Errani. But it only gets tougher from here on out as Agnieska Radwanska will await her next opponent and very likely her toughest test this week.
