While I initially suspected that maybe, just maybe, she would have a tougher time in her quarter-final matchup, Serena Williams went out and proved me wrong – and with a vengeance at that.

Following her third-round victory Thursday evening, Serena admitted that she does not remember playing her quarter-final opponent, Magdalena Rybarikova. Whatever unfamiliarity the American had certainly didn’t show on this night as she made quick work of the Slovakian with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 victory.

So far, Serena has had a relatively easy time with her opposition in Toronto but with that said, she will have to remained focused as she faces a much tougher opponent on Saturday evening in the No. 3 Agnieska Radwanska who, like the younger Williams, has played convincingly dominant thus far in the tournament.

The Williams/Radwanska matchup is slated for the late game so we will just have to wait and see how that semi-final will shape up.

Either way, it should be exciting.
