Dmitry Tursunov has been in the field of two Emirates Airlines U.S. Open Series events and has only lost once in those two events. He has won 9 of his last 10 matches in tournaments played in Washington and presently in Cincinnati. Today, that trend continued in the Western & Southern Open as he defeated 3rd seeded David Ferrer, 6-2, 6-4.

Tursunov's only loss during this streak was to John Isner in Washington in a tough three setter, Isner is having a successful Summer, as well.

The Russian broke Ferrer's serve twice in the first set and once in the second in the straight set victory.

He currently finds himself ranked 44th in the World with his recent success on the hard courts, after struggling on grass and clay earlier in the summer. He had slipped to 122nd in the World in 2012 after having been ranked as high as 22 in 2006 and 2008.

Tursunov will attempt to keep his hot Summer going facing Juan Martin Del Potro next in  the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Masters and hopes to make an impact in next weeks Winston-Salem Open, before heading into the U.S. Open.
